Building Switzerland's first licensed digital private bank
REYL Intesa Sanpaolo, a Switzerland-headquartered financial services company, wanted to build a digital banking solution to meet the needs of mass affluent customers in a rapidly digitalizing marketplace. They partnered with Capco to elaborate on the vision of Alpian - the first digial mobile-first private bank to be licenced by FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.

Our Client’s Priorities

Mass-affluent banking customers expect real - time online and offline investment experiences and – above all – they want to be actively involved in the investment management process, while ensuring that their investment goals are aligned to their personal values.
REYL Intesa Sanpaolo wanted to offer their customers a state-of-the-art digital platform combining retail and private banking services for mass affluent customers. They also wanted to enhance its entire product development lifecycle and the management of internal resources.
Our Solution
REYL Intesa Sanpaolo chose Capco because of our global transformation experience and expertise.

Capco initially supported REYL Intesa Sanpaolo in assessing the market size of potential target markets, evaluating the competitor landscape, and defining the value proposition (service offering) for the proposed digital bank, while simultaneously factoring in the legal and compliance aspects.

This conceptualization played an integral part in getting the stakeholder buy-in and kickstarting the Alpian project in 2019.

The following year, this engagement further evolved when Capco conducted an assessment of the evolution of Alpian's development roadmap and provided action recommendations.

Capco further helped in development of critical front-end functionalities on Alpian's back-office application, in line with specifications.

Additionally, Capco has supported Alpian in its journey on other strategic subjects, providing relevant capabilities across a wide spectrum of topics, and delivering services in an efficient manner.
A successful outcome
The completion of the project enabled Alpian to optimize its processes and services, including a back-office application that provides an easier way for its employees to manage all banking processes and customer data in real-time.
Today, Alpian offers personalized wealth management through seasoned private bankers, a multi-currency account, premium services, insured deposits, and a premium debit card - the ideal experience for mass affluent customers.
