With the Wandel project, Deutsche Bank and Capco have demonstrated how metaverse environments can offer an exciting venue for collaboration and education.
Wandel – German for ‘change’ – is a custom - designed virtual campus set amongst mountain scenery within a private enterprise metaverse.
This bespoke space was the venue for an innovation week experience for 2,500 Deutsche Bank employees drawn from locations around the globe.
Learning & development present a challenge for many banks when it comes to ensuring employees are fully engaged.
Wandel was designed from the ground up to deliver an experience that was at once exciting and fun.
The virtual space provides a common ground for employees to learn together, collaborate, and share their insights and inspirations much as they would in real life – despite the physical distances between them.
The development of Wandel was fast – from concept to delivery in less than 10 weeks. Capco’s designers, architects and innovation specialists created a rich and immersive environment that can be accessed and enjoyed through a traditional web browser.
Wandel is a first step, but it demonstrates the benefits of early adoption. By trialling and testing this technology internally today, banks and other institutions will be well positioned – when the time is right – to deploy them to offer their customers engaging and immersive virtual experiences.
