"Success isn’t a Title, a Paycheck, or a Destination—it’s Alignment." – Sharon Benning, Associate Director, Capco UK

1. How do you celebrate your own achievements?

We’re always told that “time is precious, spend it wisely”—so when I can, I do! For me, celebrating isn’t about extravagant gestures; it’s about giving myself the gift of time—a luxury as a mother of two young children.

Here’s my ideal way to celebrate a personal achievement:

Wake up before the sun rises
Put on the out-of-office (guilt-free!)
Go for a refreshing hike
Grab a great cup of coffee
Get lost in a new book
Catch up with a friend

Simple, fulfilling, and completely on my terms.

2. What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?

You’d have to ask them! But above all, I’d want them to say "human."

Before being a leader, a manager, or a coach, I hope they see me as a person first—one who listens, learns, and lifts others up. Hopefully, a good one at that!

3. Which of your traits are you most proud of?

Confidence.

Confidence isn’t just about being sure of yourself—it’s about believing in your abilities, even in the face of uncertainty. It pushes me to take risks, strive for excellence, and stand up for what I believe in. It allows me to fail without fear and succeed without hesitation.

4. What’s your favorite thing to come home to after a long day at work?

My children. Their innocence. Their excitement. Their energy. There’s nothing like being greeted by their pure, unfiltered joy.

(Although, let’s be honest—a hot shower is a close second! The ultimate reset button: washing away the stress, rebalancing my energy, and stepping into a fresh state of mind.)

5. What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

"It’s a marathon, not a race."

We live in a world obsessed with instant gratification, but real success isn’t about rushing to the finish line—it’s about growth, resilience, and the lessons learned along the way.

6. This is the advice I hope to pass on to my children:

• Walk before you can run.
• Take your time to learn and reflect.

• Make mistakes—then try again.
• Knowledge is power.
• Power builds confidence.
• …And confidence allows you to believe.

Because at the end of the day, self-belief takes you further than speed ever will.

6. What does success mean to you?

Success isn’t a title, a paycheck, or a destination—it’s alignment.

It’s living a life that fulfills me both personally and professionally—because in my world, the two aren’t separate. It’s showing up as the best version of myself in every role I play: employee, mother, wife, daughter, friend.

Most importantly, success is bringing my true self to all of it. Because really, is there anything more fulfilling than living your truth?

7. In moments of self-doubt or adversity, how do you build yourself back up?

I pause.
I breathe.
I reflect on everything I’ve already overcome.
I remind myself of all the moments of doubt, the times I thought, “I can’t do this,” and the victories that proved me wrong.
And then… I pick myself up and keep going. Because the journey doesn’t stop here.
