Building data leadership in APAC

The role of data leaders is changing fast as it shifts from simply managing data risks towards business value creation and AI enablement. Leaders must prepare themselves to become ‘intelligence architects’ that can bring together human experts and AI agents to curate machine-generated knowledge.

As they build their strategy for success, however, APAC’s data leaders must take account of regional characteristics including:

APAC’s diversity of data practices, creating an urgent need to assess data maturity but also many opportunities to leapfrog competitors
Evolving privacy and data localization rules, bringing the challenge of redesigning internal data processes, controls and infrastructure
The need to scale AI and Agentic AI responsibly, in line with fast-evolving national and regional guidelines.
